iPod Mini Cases

So you've got your cool looking new iPod mini. It's lime green, and you're so proud of it… But wait… oh no you've scratched it's perfect finish. Time to review some of the iPod mini cases available.

As the ipod phenomenon has grown so has companies lust to create new and exciting accessories for these fun loving units. Hence there is no shortage of cases for your iPod mini.

Even though your mini is aluminum, and likely a cool color (unless it's too late and you've already scratched it too h**l) it's a good idea to have a case for it. Whether it's to protect it from the elements, your clumsiness, or your physical activities (running, biking etc.).

So what's out there? Which one of the iPod mini cases is right for you? Well lets start with one of the most durable cases out there, iPod Armour.

There are ups and downs to these cases, the iPod Armour available for the mini is aluminum, an internal ABS (as they call it) shell that takes the shock from drops and falls to ensure the case takes the abuse and the iPod doesn't. The downfall to iPod mini Armour is that it doesn't offer access to the controls unless the case is open. Making it ideal for activity purposes.

Comes with a belt clip so your hands are free, and the interior is a black velvety material that stops your iPod from getting scratched. This is definitely one of the cooler ipod mini cases. Looks cool and protects.

Next up we have ipod mini skins. Not exactly protection from dropping your unit, but it does stop it from scratching. Also there's the possibility of adding some pretty cool patterns to your iPod. You can think of a skin almost like wrapping paper for your mini. The skin is printed on sticky vinyl material to be applied as a one-piece cover to the entire unit. It's not rocket science so check out the picture below of this aloha blue skin and you should see what I mean.

There are other types of skins for ipods, which we'll explore on a separate article just on skins, but a brief intro is there are injection molded ones, and rubber skins also that go on and off the iPod to protect when needed

Now to the most conventional of iPod mini cases, the Belkin leather pouch. Similar to the early PDA cases with a fold close front, and Velcro to hold it shut, this case keeps your mini protected from scrapes and drops. While its not the most aesthetically pleasing case, it gets the job done at an attractive price. If you use your iPod for commutes or in your car etc. then this case will keep it protected when it doesn't matter if it's small and sleek.

It doesn't matter if you're looking for stylish or bulk. There's a wide array of iPod mini cases to choose from. The important thing is that you get one that suits your lifestyle.
