JBL onstage

The JBL onstage is the first to change the generic look of a stand up speaker system behind the iPod dock. Does it make a difference sound wise? Likely not, but it does look a little cooler. This system supports all of the iPod models with a dock connector except for the iPod photo, and iPod shuffle. So onto the product
The onstage is the one product that rivals the Bose Sound dock say some users. With JBLs parent company being Harman Kardon it's very rare that JBL puts out an inferior product, and sure enough the JBL onstage follows suit.
While it doesn't offer a remote it does have some pretty handy features that mirror the Bose system. There's a connector at the back of the onstage that allows you to use your standard iPod cable to connect the unit to your computer. This means that if connected everytime you place your iPod in the cradle it is connected to charge and sync with your computer, nice considering some can find the cable a little cumbersome depending on where your computer is located. What about the sound quality though?
Like the majority of iPod speakers, it sounds great at low and medium volumes, but isn't the best unit to crank and throw on your favorite Mega Death tunes. Most music types with the exception of some Rap and Dance (music with a lot of Bass) sound great at most volumes through the onstage. One neat feature unique to the JBL onstage is it has a volume memory. It remembers the last volume level you had the system at before you shut it off.
Few other tidbits, the system provides power to your iPod for charging even when it's not plugged into your computer, there is also an auxiliary input so that you can use your onstage with other devices (i.e. laptops, portable cd players etc.).
The onstage unit is be the ideal accessory to make your iPod more then just a portable personal music device. Check out the JBL ipod speakers at the link below.
